Depart from Arusha after breakfast and drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its massive elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. Enjoy a full day game drive with picnic lunch in the park.
Tarangire is particularly famous for its large elephant population and the Tarangire River that attracts wildlife year-round. The park's landscape of rolling hills, swamps, and iconic baobab trees creates a photographer's paradise. In the evening, check into Fanaka Lodge for overnight accommodation.
Tarangire has one of the highest elephant densities in Tanzania, with herds often numbering in the hundreds. The park is also home to over 550 bird species, making it a birdwatcher's paradise. The ancient baobab trees, some over 1,000 years old, create a unique landscape.
After breakfast, enter Lake Manyara National Park for a full day of exploration. The park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, large elephant herds, and diverse birdlife including thousands of flamingos.
Lake Manyara's unique ecosystem includes groundwater forest, acacia woodlands, and the alkaline lake itself. The park offers excellent wildlife viewing in a compact area, with the chance to see lions, elephants, giraffes, hippos, and over 400 bird species. Return to Fanaka Lodge for overnight.
After breakfast, depart for the legendary Serengeti National Park. The drive takes you through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with scenic views. Enter the Serengeti through the Naabi Hill Gate and enjoy game viewing en route to Nguchiro Campsite.
Spend two days exploring the vast Serengeti plains. Each day includes morning and afternoon game drives, searching for the Big Five and witnessing the Great Migration (seasonal). The Serengeti's name comes from the Maasai word "Siringet" meaning "endless plains." Return to Nguchiro Campsite each evening for camp-cooked meals.
Nguchiro Campsite offers basic facilities in the heart of Serengeti. Experience the magic of sleeping under African skies, listening to the sounds of the wilderness. The campfire becomes the perfect place to share stories of the day's sightings with fellow travelers.
Enjoy a final morning game drive in Serengeti before departing for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The drive offers scenic views as you ascend the Ngorongoro Highlands.
Arrive at Simba Campsite located on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. The campsite offers stunning views and a chance to experience the cool highland climate. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the famous Ngorongoro Crater.
The Ngorongoro Highlands offer a completely different ecosystem from the plains below. The cooler climate supports montane forest, and the area is home to elephants, buffalos, and various antelope species. At night, temperatures can drop significantly, so warm clothing is essential.
Early morning descent into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. Often called "Africa's Garden of Eden," the crater has one of the highest densities of wildlife in Africa. Spot the Big Five including the rare black rhino.
After your crater tour, ascend back to the rim and begin your journey back to Arusha. Enjoy a picnic lunch en route. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for souvenir shopping or a day room to freshen up before your transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight.
We recommend booking international flights departing after 4:00 PM. The drive from Ngorongoro to Arusha takes approximately 3-4 hours, plus additional time for the crater tour.
